BELT AND ROAD-DREAM BUILDERS

Ammar plays with his children at home in Yiwu, east China's Zhejiang Province, Sept. 8, 2018. Ammar Al-baadani, a 40-year-old Yemeni, is now a Yiwu resident working as a doctor in Yiwu. He came to China in 1996 as a student and finished his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Tianjin Medical University and achieved a doctor's degree at Zhejiang University in Zhejiang Province. Later he started his own business in Yiwu, and set up a non-profit organization "Silu (Silk Road in Chinese) Culture Club" to promote the communication between China and other countries. So far, the club has attracted more than 100 traders from 25 countries along the Belt and Road. As Ammar majored in medicine, he takes up doctor as main occupation. Ammar said he feels content and happy to settle in Yiwu. His two sons are now studying at a local elementary school. Since the Belt and Road Initiative was put forward six years ago, the two "arches" have stretched out on land and sea. Brilliant talents emerge, passions of youth spark, sweet loves sprout, and magnificent ambitions thrive. It all happens when the Belt and Road provides the opportunity to help many individual dreams come true. (Xinhua/Tan Jin)
