KABUL, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- At least seven militants of Haqqani militant group, including a local leader of outfit have been killed following an Afghan Air Force-led airstrike in eastern province of Paktika, Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs said on Tuesday.
"Saifullah, the military and logistic head of Haqqani Terrorist Network killed along with six others after Air Force struck a militants' hideout in Margha village, Barmal district, eastern Paktika province, yesterday," the ministry said in a statement.
As a Taliban-linked group of militants, the Haqqani network mostly operating in eastern provinces and capital Kabul, and has been responsible for many high-profile attacks against security forces.
The targeted group was involved in planning and coordinating suicide attacks in Paktika and neighboring provinces, the statement added.
