BUENOS AIRES, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Lisandro Lopez converted one of three penalty attempts and gave two assists as Argentina's Racing Club routed Brazilian side Vasco da Gama 4-0 in their Copa Libertadores Group E match on Thursday.
Lopez had two first-half spot kicks saved by Uruguayan goalkeeper Martin Silva before hitting it lucky the third time just after the hour mark by holding his nerve after Renzo Saravia was brought down by Wellington Martins.
The 35-year-old former Argentina international forward also set up first-half goals for Lautaro Martinez and Ricardo Centurion with the final pass.
Matias Zaracho provided the game's most thrilling moment when he dribbled past two defenders and rounded Silva before firing a left-footed shot while off-balance that rebounded in off the post.
Racing have now won two and drawn one of their three matches to date while Vasco have only managed a draw and two losses.
