WINDHOEK, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to Namibia Zhang Yiming on Monday reassured Africa that China will keep its commitment to support the continent in spite of the U.S.-initiated trade frictions.

He was speaking at the China-Africa Water Forum currently taking place in Windhoek.

"I want to assure you China as the second largest world economy and one of the major world players, we will keep our commitment to support multilateralism," said the ambassador.

Noting that China owns a huge market and large consuming power, Zhang said "we welcome our African friends including Namibia to export any kind of products into the Chinese market."

"I can assure you the door is open already for Africa to explore areas to export," he said, "we will open our market for all friends in the world especially Africa."
