RIYADH, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia condemned on Thursday the "terrorist attacks" that targeted two tankers in the Gulf of Oman, Saudi Press Agency reported.
Saudi Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Khalid Al-Falih said that his country was monitoring with great concern the terrorist attacks, adding that the kingdom condemns such terrorist acts, especially in view of the attacks on Saudi vessels off the coast of UAE a month ago. He noted that one of the tankers was carrying methanol from Jubail.
The minister revealed that Saudi Arabia would take all measures it deems necessary to protect its ports and territorial waters, calling on the international community to work with the kingdom and take responsibility to protect the safety of global maritime navigation.
He continued that the ministry of energy and Saudi Aramco have raised the level of readiness to deal with such aggressive terrorist acts, reaffirming Saudi Arabia's commitment to the reliable supply of oil to global markets.
