JINAN, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Kashima Antlers, the defending AFC Champions League champions, vowed to get another three points as they take on Shandong Luneng in the 2nd group match of the 2019 AFC Champions League at Jinan Olympic Sports Centre on Tuesday, according to Kashima's head coach Go Oiwa here on Monday.
Kashima look to get another win after they opened their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Malaysia's Johor Darul Ta'zim on March 5.
Kashima wanted the win badly as Go Oiwa and defender Koki Machida answered every question with three points.
"Luneng have several good players like Pelle, Fellaini and captain Hao Junmin, but we are confident to take three points home, " Go Oiwa said.
While Shandong Luneng drew 2-2 in the first round with South Korean club Gyeongnam FC, Luneng had another 2-2 draw at the weekend in a match against Henan Jianye in the Chinese Super League.
If Luneng aim to go further in the competition, the game against Kashima will be a must-win.
"We have to make full use of home advantage, we will win if we play better football," said Li Xiaopeng, head coach of Luneng.
Luneng won at home and away against Sanfrecce Hiroshima in the 2016 group stage, when they last faced Japanese opposition.
