3 people injured in bomb blast in SW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, March 4 (Xinhua) -- At least three people were injured on Monday in a bomb blast in Chaman city of Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, a local official said.

Deputy Commissioner Shafqat Anwar Shahwani said that the explosive device was fixed at a motorcycle which was parked near a bus terminal at the Mall Road area in Chaman, a city of district Qilla Abdullah bordering Afghanistan.

At least two children are also among the injured, police said.

Rescue teams, police and security forces rushed to the site and shifted the wounded to the hospital.

All the injured including two children were reportedly in stable condition.

Nearby buildings, a couple of shops and buses were partially damaged in the powerful blast.

The power supply was suspended in the area after the explosion damaged an electricity pole.

According to bomb disposal squad of police, around five kg of explosives were used in the blast and it was detonated with a remote-controlled device.

No group claimed the attack yet.
