LUSAKA, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Switcher India LLP, which has over 5,000 distributors in India, said it has decided to expand its investment into Zambia on Wednesday.

"Zambia stands to benefit through jobs and energy efficiency especially for highway projects as the equipment comes with motion sensors and cameras," Kapil Sobti, the company's head of business, said.

The company, he said, was looking for a local firm to partner with in its expansion program for Zambia. He also said that the firm believes most of its products such as solar LED home lighting and appliances were important for Zambia due to challenges of counterfeiting.

According to the statement, trade volume between Zambia and India stood at 1 billion U.S. dollars in 2018 and total investment from India was at 8 billion dollars by the end of 2018.
