ISLAMABAD, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- A flight of Pakistan International Airlines escaped an accident with a hovering drone in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Friday, local reports said.
The plane was flying at 100 feet when its pilot contacted control tower that a drone is coming close to the plane, however, the pilot safely steered the aircraft to Sukkur where it was set to land, ARY News reported.
The Civil Aviation Authority informed police about the incident and a search operation was conducted in the area over which the drone was hovering.
It is banned to fly drones near the airport, and the authorities have shown serious concern over the drone coming so close to the flight.
