HERAT, Afghanistan, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- At least seven militants including two local leaders of the Taliban were killed as military aircraft targeted the militant group in Shindand district of the western Herat province on Monday, a statement of army said.
"Acting upon intelligence report, the fighting aircraft targeted a Taliban vehicle in Zirkoh area of Shindand district early morning, killing seven insurgents including Mullah Ghulam Sakhi, the chief of education commission of the armed outfit, and Mullah Najibullah, the shadow governor for Shindand district on the spot," the statement said.
Taliban outfit has not commented on the report.
