4,500 athletes from 20 countries join Tunisia int'l marathon

TUNIS, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Some 4,500 athletes from 20 countries took part in the 33rd international "Comar Tunis-Carthage" marathon in Tunis on Sunday.

The marathon consisted of three events, including a marathon of 42.195 km, a half marathon of 21.1 km and a "kid marathon" for children aged between seven and 14 years old.

The annual "Comar Tunis-Carthage" marathon was founded in 1986, aiming to help promote Tunisian tourism by attracting foreign participation, as well as the idea of having sports to preserve health.
