SANYA, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- A series of activities related to Miss World 2018 have begun in Sanya, south China's island province of Hainan.
Contestants from 120 countries and regions around the world attended the launching ceremony of the activities in Sanya on Monday.
The contestants will help promote green, energetic and healthy lifestyles during a 30-day period by showing their talents, joining festooned vehicle events and doing sports.
Miss World 2018, the 68th edition of the international beauty pageant, is scheduled to be held in Sanya on Dec. 8. It is the eighth time for the annual event to be held in Sanya.
The Miss World pageant, created in 1951, is one of the oldest and most influential beauty pageants in the world.
