TOKYO, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares opened higher Friday morning on a rebound of U.S. stocks overnight.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 124.49 points, or 0.59 percent, from Thursday to 21,393.22.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 8.71 points, or 0.54 percent, at 1,609.63.
Gainers were led by oil and coal product, nonferrous metal and electric appliance issues.
