Vietnam, Jordan win early in 2019 AFC U-19 Women's Championship

HANOI, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam and Jordan won their first matches in the 2019 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-19 Women's Championship here on Wednesday.

Vietnam downed Malaysia 2-1, while Jordan hammered Singapore 8-0. Vietnam will face Singapore on Friday and Jordan on Sunday.

Of the 47 AFC member associations, a total of 30 teams entered the competition, with Japan, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and China automatically qualifying for the final tournament based on their positions as the top three teams in the previous championship. Enditem
