GAZA, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- A 17-year-old Palestinian teenager was killed on Tuesday by an Israeli soldier's gunfire in central Gaza Strip close to the border with Israel, medics said.
Gaza Health Ministry Spokesman Ashraf al Qedra said in a press statement that Muntaser Elbaz, 17 years old, was critically wounded on Tuesday afternoon by an Israeli gunshot in east of al Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza Strip.
Al Qedra added that Elbaz had succumbed of his sustained wounds at Shifa Hospital in Gaza City two hours after he was critically wounded.
He said that seven other Palestinians were injured in clashes that broke out in the area between dozens of Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli soldiers stationed on the border with Israel.
Al Qedra also said that since the start of the anti-Israel marches of return and protests in the Gaza Strip close to the border with Israel on March 30, the Israeli army shot dead 207 Palestinians and wounded more than 22,000 others.
