RIYADH, Oct. 15, (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Donald Trump lauded on Monday the joint Saudi-Turkish cooperation to investigate the disappearance of the Saudi national Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul, Saudi Press Agency reported.
In a telephone call made to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Trump also hailed the kingdom's keenness to clarify all relevant facts.
Both leaders reviewed the latest developments in the region and bilateral relations between the two countries.
Khashoggi, a journalist and columnist for the Washington Post, has been missing since he entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2.
Unconfirmed reports said Khashoggi was likely killed inside the compound, which was denied by Saudi officials as "baseless."
