ISLAMABAD, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani security forces have recovered arms and ammunition during a search operation in the country's southwest Balochistan province on Tuesday, official reports said.
The Inter-Services Public Relations, the media wing of the Pakistani army, said in a statement that the forces conducted the operation by acting on an intelligence tip-off regarding presence of the arms in the area.
The operations were launched in Dera Bugti district in the province. "Cache of arms and ammunition buried underground recovered including ammunition of various types, explosive and IED (improvised explosive devices) accessories," the statement read.
The operation was a continuation of the ongoing operation "Radd ul Fasaad", or "Reject Discord" in English, in the country.
Launched in February last year, the joint operation by the army and other law enforcement agencies aims at eradication of hidden sleeper cells of militants in the country.
