WINDHOEK, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's playmaker Zenatha Coleman said Tuesday they were ready to step up to the task when they face Zimbabwe in the 2018 African Women Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.

The Real Zaragoza player is part of the 20-member squad for the first leg clash on Thursday.

"We have to win on Thursday and then go to Harare with a chance because they will be tough over there with their supporters cheering them on," she added.

The Zimbabwean squad arrived in Windhoek on Tuesday morning and after the game on Thursday, Namibia will jet off to Zimbabwe immediately to prepare for the return leg in Harare pencilled for Sunday April 8.

"They will come out at me and I have the experience and God-given talent to try to evade them and do well for my team," Coleman said.

The winners will face either Tanzania or Zambia and the eventual winners will progress to the finals in Ghana from Nov. 17 to Dec. 1, 2018.

Namibia's only participation at the continental women football showpiece was in 2014 and in 2016 the team failed to qualify for the competition in Cameroon. Enditem
