PHNOM PENH, March 27 (Xinhua) -- The China-ASEAN Expo-Cambodia Exhibition will be held here for the first time from March 30 to April 1, organizers said Tuesday.
Chen Min, deputy director of the liaison department of the China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat, said some 290 companies will be taking part in the 3-day event at the Diamond Island Exhibition Center, displaying their products and services at 440 booths.
"This is the first exhibition that the China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat organizes in Cambodia," she said in a press conference here. "It is also the largest exhibition that the China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat holds outside China."
Seang Thay, director general of the Trade Promotion General Department of the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, said the exhibition was aimed at celebrating the 15th anniversary of the China-ASEAN strategic partnership and the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and China.
"The exhibition is an important event that will help strengthen and promote economic and trade cooperation, diplomatic relations, and cultural ties between Cambodia and China in particular, and between China and ASEAN in general," he said in the press conference.
Apart from the exhibition, there will also be forums on trade, investment, and technology, he said.
