AYBAK, Afghanistan, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- At least two persons including a child were killed and two others injured Thursday in a blast in northern Afghanistan's Samangan province, according to police.
The blast hit a house in Aybak city, the capital of the province, police spokesman in the region, Sayed Sarwar Hussaini, said.
"A mine planted into the house of a tribal elder in Aybak city went off today afternoon, killing two persons including an innocent child on the spot and injuring two others," Hussaini told Xinhua.
Without providing more details, the official said that an investigation has been initiated into the case.
