RABAT, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Some 11.35 million tourists visited Morocco in 2017, up 10 percent from a year earlier, local media reported on Tuesday.
Citing provisional statistics by Morocco's Tourism Ministry, the financial Medias24.com news site said international tourist arrivals jumped 15 percent year on year in 2017, while Moroccans living abroad visiting their homeland rose 5 percent.
Arrivals from major markets showed an increase of 11 percent in French tourists to 1.6 million, 15 percent in Spanish visitors to 710,000, and 27 percent in German tourists to over 331,000, the same source said.
The results exceeded the initial goal set by the government of reaching at least 6 percent growth in tourist arrivals in 2017. Enditem
