MADRID, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona on Friday confirmed that defender Sergi Roberto has agreed a new contract which will keep him at the club until the end of June 2022.
The club adds that the player, who can play either in midfield or at right back will have a buyout clause of 500 million euros.
The 25-year-old joined Barcelona as a 14 year-old and made his first team debut in November 2010, although it wasn't until 2013 that he was definitively promoted to the first team squad.
He becomes the second Barca player to agree a contract extension this week, following in the footsteps of central defender Gerard Pique, who on Thursday also agreed a contract until the end of June 2022.
Elsewhere Barca have confirmed that recent signing Yerry Mina will wear the number 24 shirt and it looks as if midfielder Rafinha could be close to agreeing a move to Inter Milan.
