ANKARA, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Around 100 people with suspected links to Gulen Movement were arrested in Turkey on Wednesday, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

The police arrested a total of 59 suspects, including 26 women, in simultaneous raids conducted in 29 provinces, said Turkish security officials.

On early morning, at least 10 suspects, including doctors, academicians and teachers, were detained in southern province of Antalya.

In southern province of Osmaniye, police arrested 16 people in an operation, Osmaniye Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.

Fethullah Gulen, the U.S.-based preacher, is accused by Ankara of orchestrating a failed coup attempt on July 15, 2016. At least 250 people were killed and over 2,000 people were injured in the attempt.

The Turkish government declared a state of emergency and launched a massive crackdown on Gulen's supporters in the aftermath of the coup attempt.
