DHAKA, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Two pilots of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) were killed as a trainer aircraft crashed on Sunday night in the country's southwestern Jessore district, said Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) of Bangladesh Army.
According to an ISPR mobile message, Squadron Leader Md Serajul Islam and Squadron Leader Enayet Kabir Polash were killed when their aircraft crashed at a waterbody.
ISPR said a high-level committee has been formed to probe the crash.
Abul Bashar Miah, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jessore's Kotwali Police Station, had earlier told Xinhua that the aircraft crashed at a waterbody in a rural village at around 9:20 p.m. (local time) after it took off on a night training mission from the BAF Base Matiur Rahman in Jessore district, 164 km away from capital Dhaka.
