TOKYO, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Friday morning following the Dow Jones Industrial Average's eight-day losing streak and amid ongoing concerns about U.S. protectionist trade policies.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 192.59 points, or 0.85 percent, from Thursday to 22,500.45.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, dropped 11.21 points, or 0.64 percent, at 1,739.42.
Transportation equipment, marine transportation and pulp and paper-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
