ISLAMABAD, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan will hold the general elections on July 25, 2018, state television reported late on Saturday.
President Mamnoon Hussain has approved July 25 for holding the general elections, official TV channel PTV said. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had proposed three dates from July 25 to July 27 for the next polls.
Elections for the national and four provincial assemblies will be held on the same day, according to the announcement.
The incumbent government will complete its five- year term on May 31. The ECP has said it is ready for conducting the polls.
Political parties here have already started campaigns for the elections.
