OSLO, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Sweden-based home furnishing company IKEA's award-winning bicycle Sladda was recalled in Norway after at least two persons had been injured in accidents due to technical errors, newspaper Aftenposten reported Thursday.
The chain of the bicycle, which may suddenly fall off, caused eleven accidents in total, in which two people suffered minor injuries, the report said.
A total of 139 Sladda bicycles have been sold in Norway and IKEA urges people who have bought the bike to return it and they will get their money back, the company announced.
Sladda bicycle was awarded the "Red Dot Design Award".
"With Sladda we wanted to create a sustainable urban transport solution and we are proud of it. It is a pity that we must recall the bike, but for us, safety for our customers always comes first, " Daniel Jimenez, Business Area Manager in Ikea, Sweden, said in a press release, which also contained Ikea's apology to the customers.
